Safety culture in a high voltage context

A new approach to workplace safety was called for in this essential services business.

A bottom-up field-first philosophy was designed and they needed their team of safety coaches developed from within their own ranks. The credibility of being one of crew was part of the solution, the competence to coach and convene difficult dialogue on safety was the other part. This is where we came in.

We designed and ran a series of coaches camps and subsequent supervised peer-learning circles over 24 months. The residential events brought together colleagues from wide geographies who had decades of practical intelligence who needed coaching skills that they could use easily and immediately.

Our design and immersion took us into the field, the trucks and the job sites. We were able to develop credible empathy and insights that shaped how the facilitation was done. Learning aids were custom made and the pilot workshops were rapidly iterated at every coffee break as we and our client team learned more. Since then we have been invited to continue in this program as it has been expanded while also working with the CEO's top 40 leaders across the enterprise.

We were able to develop credible empathy and insights that shaped how the facilitation was done.

“The guys love your easy humorous style and you make the learning practical and accessible. The leaders appreciate your energy and fresh insights every time we work together."
